The number of job openings fell to 6.9 million on the last business day of November but Hire increased in Construction & Real Estate by 18000 and 12000 respectively and decreased in Professional and Business services by 167,000.
The number of people quitting fell in November, the report showed, but the total also stayed at a solid level. Quits dropped 3.2 percent in November to 3.4 million. That is still 6.6 percent higher than a year ago.
The number of hires edged down to 5.7 million decreased by 218,000 in Nov-18. The private sectors have seen a decline in hiring rate as compared to October 2018. However, within private industry, Nondurable Goods & Wholesale trade has seen a growth in hiring by 12000 & 14000 respectively.
Hiring rate as seen a fall of 0.20 % from October 2018. A point to note is the federal hiring rate increased by 0.30% in November 2018 as compared to October 2018
The total Separation has decreased by a considerable amount of 114000 which is 2.02% lesser than October 2018. While the rate of separation in government stays unaffected but overall Separation Rate slightly decreased by 0.1 to 3.7.
The industries showing commitments are Trade, Transportation & Utilities, Professional, Business Services and Leisure & Hospitality are doing well in terms of separation.
